Computer networks using rules at VŠB-TU Ostrava dormitory

General rules:

  1. Computer network at VŠB - TU Ostrava dormitory, Studentská 1777, O-Poruba, or Dr.Malého 15, Ostrava 1 (hereinafter referred to as "computer network at dormitory") is a part VŠB-TU Ostrava computer network (hereinafter referred to as "computer Network TUONET ").
  2. Dormitory subnet can be used in accordance with the rules on the use of VŠB-TU Ostrava computer networks - Rector's Directive No. 2 / 99
  3. Connecting to a computer network at dormitory is seen as a connection of each student's PC from VŠB-TU Ostrava dormitory (Student 1777, O.-Poruba) to a TUONET computer network used only with their duties of learning and scientific activities.
  4. Students confirmed with their registration:
    • will comply with the rules governing the use of computer networks at dormitory
    • will use dormitory computer networks offered resources in accordance with applicable regulations (directives, commands)
    • will not use dormitory computer network for commercial purposes

Rights and obligations of users:

  1. The user must comply with rules of VŠB-TU Ostrava computer networks (TUO_SME_99_002).
  2. The user is required to report violation of computer network rules to administrator.
  3. The user is obliged to register information about his person and PC:
    • Personal ID
    • Room, number of socket outlet
    • E-mail
    • network card MAC address
  4. Administrator is authorized to temporarily disconnect PC that is infected or otherwise attacked from the computer network.

Examples of activities that are in clear conflict with the established rules:

  1. Use Internet for commercial purposes
  2. The operation of servers, using illegal PC software or copyright infringing content
  3. Gaining unauthorized access (hacking)
  4. Connecting another PC's to computer network without the consent of the administrator
  5. Unauthorized installation of wireless access point
  6. Changing the assigned IP address

Penalties:

  1. Directive TUO_SME_99_002, Section VIII. Penalties.
