Configuration of Google Android for eduroam network

Configuration using eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool

  1. Download and install the "eduroam CAT" application from Google Play.

  2. Launch the application and select VSB - Technical University of Ostrava from the list of organizations.
     
  3. Fill the login name as login@vsb.cz (eg. Abc123@vsb.cz) and wifi password.
    Attention! In some versions of the Android OS after this step may be required lock screen using a PIN, symbols etc.!
     
  4. The eduroam profile will be configured.

 

Manual configuration

  1. Download and install Addtrust External CA Root certificate from here. Attention! In some versions of the Android OS after this step may be required lock screen using a PIN, symbols etc.!
  1. Go via All programs and choose Settings and then WiFi.
     
  2. Turn on WiFi and in the list of available WiFi networks search for the network eduroam.
     
  3. Choose following options:
    EAP method: PEAP
    CA Certificate: AddTrust External CA Root
    Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
    Identity: The user name must be entered in form login@domain (e.g. abc123@vsb.cz). Where "login" is your VSB-TUO login name and "domain" is vsb.cz.
    Password: Type your Wi-Fi password (Wi-Fi password is not identical with a single LDAP password!).

  4. After saving settings eduroam is connected.

In the event that your device can not verify the certificate authentication servers radius, you can try to use a less safe option without specifying a CA certificate AddTrust External CA Root.
