Windows - Cisco Secure Client

This client allows connection to the VPN concentrator using a standard web browser. It require a browser with enabled Java or ActiveX. The advantage of this client is that it better communicates from the network behind the firewall (for professionals: uses SSL/TLS instead of IPSec). It also supports 64-bit versions of Windows.

Installation process:

  1. In your browser, open the page https://vpn.vsb.cz, in the login window select the group VSB and fill in your university personal number (eg abc123) and a Unified password. In the SKUPINA box, choose "vsb". For advanced users, there are other options.
     
  2. Using the button "Download for...", download the installer to your computer and then run it to install the VPN client.
     
  3. After installation, search "Cisco Secure Client" in your computer's applications.
     
  4. Fill in the VPN concentrator address vpn.vsb.cz and click "Connect".
     
  5. In the login window, fill in your university personal number and password and confirm with "OK".
     
  6. To disconnect, click "Disconnect" in the running application.
