I am new student
The basic operations needed for accession to the study you will be informed in registration or at the study department.

1) UNIFIED PASSWORD (LDAP)

• Account will be automatically created.
• You will get personal number and unified password (set to default value. [no spaces or slash]) You must as soon as possible change your password. You can do so here.

2) IDENTIFICATION CARDS

*It is necessary to choose card type. Information about ISIC card, price list and other information can be found at Card centre site.

3)  MENZA - SAFEQ

• Your card will be automatically registred in menza (canteen). You can use EPS - Electronic pay system for deposit to services account. Money on services account will provide you possibility of:
  
  • Order food via the web (http://stravovani.vsb.cz)
  • Use SafeQ (copy, print, scan - http://safeq.vsb.cz
  • Use the printing system ATS (Automated printing system).

4) ACCOMMODATION - DORMITORY

5) NETWORK CONNECTION - WIFI - VPN

• Connect your PC into TUONET network. Instructions how to do so can be found here.
• You can choose from various options when connecting to WiFi. More information can be found here.
• How to set connection to the network is described here.
• If you need to connect your PC to TUONET network from home, install VPN. Instructions how to do so can be found here.

6) EMAIL - WEB INTERFACE - EMAIL CLIENTS

7) ANTIVIRUS 

• About antivirus both on Windows, what is malware, spyware, adware, phishing, you can read here.
• More informationcan about certificates can be found here.
• Available software for downloads can be found here.
• About the the available software to faculty and support to with confidence please contact the administrator of your faculty.

8) EDISON - TIMETABLES - MAP - WWW.VSB.CZ

• Terms of exams and tasks, personal study plan and other study matters can be found in EDISON http://edison.vsb.cz.

9) LIBRARY - COMPUTER LAB - PRINT / COPY - SPORT

• For the lending of books and magazines you must be registerd in library. For extending loaned titles via the Web, please log on to Central Library catalog your personal number and unified password.
• Network access you have to the faculty classrooms and on the whole-school classrooms http://ucebny.vsb.cz
• To copy / print documents you can use reprographic system SafeQ and Automated printing system (ATS) available in selected classrooms too.
• About sports activities at the department of physical education you can read at http://ktvs.vsb.cz/.

I am a new employee
The basic operations needed for getting into employment will be communicated to the Personnel Department.

1) UNIFIED PASSWORD (LDAP)

• Account will be automatically created.
• You will get personal number and unified password (set to default value. [no spaces or slash]) You must as soon as possible change your password. You can do so here.
• Even if you sign a contract in advance, settling on the card center to be the first working day.
• When signing the contract on the first working day so you will be able to settle the card until the next day (the second business day).
• Foreigners will be notified specific temporary password because they have personal identification number.

2) AGREE TO THE PAYROLL DEDUCTION

• Consent to deduction from wages fill in and go with it to the cash register (opposite to a card center, on the ground floor of Building A).

3) IDENTIFICATION CARDS

• For exposure to identification cards to go Card centre on the ground floor of Building A (main building TU Ostrava Poruba Room A148, A149).

4) MENZA - SAFEQ

• Your card will be automatically registered in the canteen (catering). meal you can ordered through the web http://stravovani.vsb.cz

• E-mail with a web interface posta.vsb.cz and instructions for setting up email clients.
  *If you want to use the university not only receiving / sending mail, but also to share tasks, calendars, contacts, and synchronize data with mobile devices, then instead Standard mail account University (Roundcube/POP3/IMAP) you will require a special account on the server Microsoft Exchange.
