Configuring an email account in Mozilla Thunderbird using IMAP or POP3

The differences between IMAP and POP3 protocols are described, for example, on the Microsoft website. We recommend choosing the IMAP protocol.

  1. Go to "Tools" > "Settings" > "Account Settings" > "Account Actions" and select "Add Mail Account".

  2. Please enter your full name. Your current email address can be found in your personal info. Use your unified password to log in. Click on "Configure manually" to configure your email account. Set the following parameters for incoming and outgoing mail servers:
    Protocol: IMAP or POP3
    Incoming mail server: imap.vsb.cz or pop3.vsb.cz
    Port: 993 or 995
    Outgoing mail server: smtp.vsb.cz
    Port: 465
    Username: your personal ID (e.g., abc123)
    Connection security: SSL/TLS
    Authentication method: Normal password
    Review your settings and click "Done" to complete the setup.

  3. The wizard will finish setting up your email account.
