Configuration of Google Android for eduroam network

Configuration using eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool

  1. If you have an eduroam profile previously configured, first delete it (via "Forget network").
     
  2. From the Google Play store, download and install the "geteduroam" application and run it.
     
  3. If the VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava is not offered in nearby configurations, click the manual search button, type "všb" and search.
     
  4. Then choose VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava from the list of organizations.
     
  5. Fill the login name as login@vsb.cz (eg. abc123@vsb.cz) and wifi password.
    Attention! In some versions of the Android OS after this step may be required lock screen using a PIN, symbols etc.!
     
  6. The eduroam profile will be configured.
     
  7. If the application reports that the profile is damaged, quit it and try again.

Manual configuration

  1. Go via All programs and choose Settings and then WiFi.
     
  2. Turn on WiFi and in the list of available WiFi networks search for the network eduroam.
     
  3. Choose following options:
    EAP method: PEAP
    CA Certificate: Use system certificates
    Domain: vsb.cz
    Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
    Identity: The user name must be entered in form login@domain (e.g. abc123@vsb.cz). Where "login" is your VSB-TUO login name and "domain" is vsb.cz.
    Password: Type your Wi-Fi password (Wi-Fi password is not identical with a single LDAP password!).
     
  4. If you did not see the "Domain" field in the previous step, click the eduroam settings, select "Modify network" and add "vsb.cz" in the "Domain" field. Confirm with the "Save" button.
