Configuration of Google Android for eduroam network

Configuration using eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool

  1. Download and install the "eduroam CAT" application from Google Play.

  2. Launch the application and select VSB - Technical University of Ostrava from the list of organizations.
     
  3. Fill the login name as login@vsb.cz (eg. Abc123@vsb.cz) and wifi password.
    Attention! In some versions of the Android OS after this step may be required lock screen using a PIN, symbols etc.!
     
  4. The eduroam profile will be configured.

 

Manual configuration

In the case of manual configuration, pay attention to verification of identity authentication servers against which your device authenticate to (radius1.vsb.cz, radius2.vsb.cz). These servers are signed by a trusted certificate authority TERENA SSL CA 3, publisher DigiCert Assured ID Root CA. Some devices may have a problem with the server certificate authentication and it is necessary (for a price lower security) authentication servers omitted
 

  1. Go via All programs and choose Settings and then WiFi.
     
  2. Turn on WiFi and in the list of available WiFi networks search for the network eduroam.
     
  3. Choose following options:
    EAP method: PEAP
    CA Certificate: (unspecified)
    Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
    Identity: The user name must be entered in form login@domain (e.g. abc123@vsb.cz). Where "login" is your VSB-TUO login name and "domain" is vsb.cz.
    Password: Type your Wi-Fi password (Wi-Fi password is not identical with a single LDAP password!).

  4. After saving settings eduroam is connected.
