Eduroam iPhone configuration

Configuration was verified on Apple iPhone, SW ver.: 3.0.1 . According to the users information you can also use the procedure for configuring the Apple iPad tablet.

Use your eduroam username, syntax is: login@vsb.cz (e.g. abc123@vsb.cz). Set your WiFi password. Optionally, you can use your eduroam credentials previously set at your university.

Apple iPhone does not require installation the CA certificate for the RADIUS authentication server, which essentially means that the device will not verify the RADIUS server certificate.

In iPhone menu, please, follow the instruction below:

1. Settings → WiFi → On
   • Wireless networks listing should appear

1. Choose Eduroam
   • Login dialog should appear.

1. Login
   • Username: login@vsb.cz
   • Password: wifi password pro síť eduroam (wifi heslo)

If the login dialog shows only one edit box for password, the iPhone probably didn't recognize authentication protocol EDUROAM. The options are: set EDUROAM manually or upgrade iPhone SW.

Note: Alternative step to the download could be sending the configuration profile to your iPhone by email as an attachement. Setup guide will appear after clicking on the attachement.
 

1. Installation begins by clicking on Install button. In the next step, you should confirm the security warning (configuration profile is not digitally signed).
   
   
    
2. Now, you will by asked for username (syntax is abc123@vsb.cz) and wifi password (refer to the beginning of this page).
   
   
    
3. Configuration profile has been installed. If you will be in area covered by Eduroam network, iPhone will always try to connect to tuonet-peap network.
   
   
    

Removing configuration profile

1. Go to the Settings → General → Profile:
   
   
    
2. Choose Eduroam profile and click on remove button.
