View of network devices in Device Manager

Displaying network devices in Device Manager in Windows:

  1. a) View the dialog Basic information about computer using the key shortcut win_klavesa.png+Pause win_klavesa.png+Fn+Pause on notebook) and proceed via Device Manager.

    b) In Windows 10/8 press WinKey+I and in shown strip Settings continue through (Control Panel) → System and SecuritySystemDevice Manager.  
    In Windows 7 go via Start Control PanelSystem and SecuritySystemDevice Manager.

  2. Show network adapter in the Device Manager and check if e.g. you have prohibited network connection adapter (icon with an exclamation mark), if there is a warning or error in properties of the adapter etc.

  3. Check if you don't have address of the network card set manually by entering field Value in Properties which can be marked as Network Address, Locally Administered Address, Locally administered address, Local network address etc.

  4. In some cases it's suitable to return changes on driver if updated driver causes troubles.
