Ping - verify the connection to the university network

You can check the state of your connection to University network with command ping. This command will show you response to chosen server.

• For example ping to this documentation server idoc.vsb.cz is: ping idoc.vsb.cz

(Note: To communicate with technicians create a slide of the result of command ping and attach it to your requirement according to the guide here.)

Procedure in Windows:

1. In Windows 10/8 press WinKey+R and enter command cmd.
   In Windows 7 go via Start and to the searching field type cmd and confirm by pressing key Enter or click on the searched program cmd (Command line Windows).
    
2. Type ping idoc.vsb.cz and confirm by pressing key Enter.
   There will be server response in the listing.
   
   

Procedure in Windows XP is similar:

1. Go via Start → Run → to the field Open type cmd (Command line Windows) and confirm by pressing OK.
    
2. Type ping idoc.vsb.cz in the opened window and confirm by pressing Enter.
   There will be server response in the listing.
