Setting firewall in MS Windows 7 and 8

Firewall protects the computer from viruses and other security threats, prevents unauthorized users from gaining access to the computer via network or the Internet. Firewall with antivirus and updates is necessar computer protection.

  1. In Windows 8:
    Press WinKey+I and in shown strip Settings continue through Control Panel → System and Security → Gate Windows Firewall → in the left menu click on Turn on or off Windows Firewall → choose Turn on Windows Firewall for home (local) and public networks and confirm with OK.

    In Windows 7:   
    Go via Start → Control panels → System and Security → Gate Windows Firewall → Turn on or off Windows Firewall → choose Turn on Windows Firewall for home (local) and public networks and confirm with OK.
